Matt Barnes was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. After attending Art Center of Design as a Photo major, he quickly became a fixture in the music business, shooting over 500 album covers with work regularly published in Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone. His work expanded to shooting innovative lifestyle and advertising campaigns for Coca Cola, Ford Motor Company, Jack Daniels Distillery, Sony, SAAB, Trump Plaza Dubai and many others.
